Patent Attorney Registration

Fees

The application fee for registration as a patent attorney is $200.

An annual registration fee of $350 is payable on 1 July each year.

The annual fee for dual-registration as a patent attorney and trade marks attorney is $450.

Where the fee is not paid within 31 days of 1 July the Designated Manager is required to remove the attorney's name from the register and advise the attorney of the removal.

To restore an attorney's name which was removed for non-payment, the attorney must apply for restoration on or before 1 September of the year in which the attorney's name was removed from the Register, or within such further period as the Designated Manager reasonably allows. The attorney must pay the registration fee together with the fee applicable under Regulation 20.27 and item 107 of Schedule 7: of the Patents Regulations 1991.

Registration is renewable every year. A renewal notice will be sent to all registered attorneys by no later than 1 June.

The address for the notice will be the current address shown on the Register of Patent Attorneys [ Regulation 20.23 of the Patent Regulations] [Regulation 20.14 of the Trade Marks Regulation]
